Gerianne began her professional career in the award-winning production of Volleygirls at the Signature Theatre alongside Susan Blackwell and Monica Raymund (of SISU THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS). This production was noted as the NYMF 2013 "Best of Fest," "Best Ensemble," "Most Promising New Musical," and Huffington Post's "one of the best shows of 2013." She then went on to star in Bubble Boy at Hamilton Stage, followed by another star turn as the classic Rizzo in Grease at North Shore Music Theatre. Her incredible musicianship and a cappella expertise led to her becoming a lead vocalist in the First National Tour of Vocalosity. The fast-paced live concert featured 12 voices singing some of today's top hits with vocal arrangements from Pitch Perfect's own Deke Sharon. Following Vocalosity, she wowed audiences with her fiery portrayal of Vanessa in In the Heights at the Hangar Theatre.
Gerianne made her Broadway debut as Kathy in Broadway's first a cappella musical, In Transit, at the Circle in the Square Theatre. With a book, music and lyrics by Academy Award winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen), James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth, and vocal arrangements by Deke Sharon, In Transit was directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner, Kathleen Marshall. Most recently, she starred in Maine State Music Theatre's summer season, performing roles in Guys and Dolls, Grease, and Newsies. Gerianne is thrilled to be going on the first national tour of Waitress coming this fall!
Gerianne has been praised by critics for her sultry vocals and was hailed by the New York Times as "an impressive singer...seemingly effortless." Her voice can be heard on the tracks of "Fever," "Locked out of Heaven," and "Hallelujah" on the Vocalosity album, as well as the entirety of the Original Broadway Cast album of In Transit. She has appeared on stages from New York City to Shanghai, and venues including 54 Below, Joe's Pub, Town Hall, the Beacon Theater, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. She is a proud graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
Coming up, Gerianne will be warming hearts (and stomaches) across the country on the national tour of Waitress, the beloved Broadway musical with music by Sara Bareilles. She will be joining the cast in the ensemble and as Dawn US. The Waitress tour kicks off October 17 in in Cleveland, Ohio, where it will play through November 5 before heading to Columbus, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and more.
